About Big White

Located on what is the tallest mountain in the Okanagan Highland, Big White is one of the largest ski resorts in British Columbia. In the winter months, it’s a deservedly popular ski resort, while in summer it’s a hub for hiking, mountain biking and wine tasting in the Okanagan Valley wine region.

Things to do in Big White

Skiers and snowboarders can hit the trails of Big White Mountain, with the resort featuring more than 1,000 hectares of skiable terrain and powdery snow. It boasts one of the largest night skiing areas in Canada and one of the biggest tubing parks in North America, as well as an Olympic-sized outdoor rink for ice skating.

If you’re a keen climber, you can test your skills on the 18-metre-high climbing wall or enjoy a ride on the dog sled-style Sno-Limo. Skiing and snowboarding lessons are also available for all ages and abilities, ranging from learn-to-ride classes to multi-week courses for those wanting to master their skills.

Visiting in the summer months? Hit one of the hiking trails that wind through the highlands or get a bird’s eye view of the resort during a scenic chair lift ride. In addition to horseback adventures, Big White can also be used as a launching point for cellar door-hopping and farm-to-table dining experiences in the Okanagan Valley wine region.

Getting around Big White

Big White is an hour’s drive from Kelowna and Kelowna International Airport, which has flights to destinations across Canada. Alternatively, it can be accessed by a 4.5-hour drive from Vancouver. The summit of Big White Mountain is connected to Big White Village by 16 ski lifts.
