About Jindo

One of the largest islands in South Korea, Jindo lies just off the south-west corner of the Korean peninsula. It’s separated from the mainland by the Myeongnyang Strait, which is spanned by twin cable-stayed bridges that are the longest in the country. Photogenic views of the Jindo Bridges are also available from Lee Sun Shin Park, which features several picnic tables, golden dragons and South Korea’s largest statue of Yi Sun-sin.

A highlight of visiting Jindo is getting up close to indigenous Korea Jindo dogs, which can easily be viewed at the Jindo Dog Theme Park. This dog research, breeding and educational centre features interactive exhibits where you can learn about the unique characteristics of the breed before seeing them in action during regular training demonstrations and dog shows.
