About Utebo

El Ebro is the second largest river on the Iberian Peninsula in Spain. Flowing from Reinosa, Cantabria in the north to Amposta, Catalonia in the east, the river spans across 930 kilometres of terrain.

For the best views of the river head to Zaragoza, a city in the Aragon region that overlooks El Ebro. Here on the banks of the river sits the great Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar. This Roman Catholic church looks like a grand palace from the outside, where many locals visit at sunset to watch the sun go down over the river.

For the more active travellers, the El Ebro river can by kayaked from Zaragoza. Jump aboard your kayak and head up the river into the historic town centre, sweeping under bridges as you go.

Getting there

The river spans across the North East of Spain and can be visited at multiple locations. Zaragoza, however, sits a three-hour drive from both Barcelona and Bilbao. Hiring a car is recommended, where you can trace the course of the river on an epic Spanish road trip.
