What are your breakfast options?: The rooms are self-contained so there is a small kitchenette in the room with a 2 plate stove, microwave and refrigerator so you can self-cater if you wish. There is no restaurant on site, however it is just a short walk to the Corner Cafe which serves breakfast everyday from around 6:45am. Cost starts at around $7.50 depending on your choice. There are also a couple of other restaurants which offer breakfast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, also in easy walking distance. You can also have breakfast with the koalas at the nearby Cairns Tropical Zoo, about 10 minutes drive from here, and breakfast with the birds at the Wildlife Habitat near Port Douglas which is about 45 minutes drive away.
What transport is available to get around?: All the tours pick up from Amaroo or the nearby bus stop daily. The local bus goes into the centre of Cairns and departs about every half an hour during the week. From the airport, you will need to get a taxi that costs about $56 or we can organize a transfer for 2 people one way; the cost would be $40. If you require us to arrange the transfer, we would need your flight details and arrival time.
What can I do nearby?: The Local Tavern is just 2 doors down. It opens daily at 10:00am and offers food and beverage, poker machines, sports bar etc. Nearby restaurants are all in walking distance.
Do you have internet?: Yes, there is wireless internet access in the rooms and you can choose a plan to suit your needs, e.g 1 hour is $7.50 and 4 hours is $19.95. You can save your time up.
Do you provide parking?: There is undercover car parking here at Amaroo.
