Iluka, which is Aboriginal for "by the sea", is a charming coastal village at the mouth of the Clarence River, and has long been famous for fishing, with anglers from all parts of the continent converging to enjoy a region that offers some of Australia"s finest rock, beach, estuary and deep sea fishing.

For those not interested in fishing, Iluka offers long stretches of unspoiled beaches and perhaps Australia"s most easily accessible and rarest remains of rainforest. The World Heritage-listed Iluka Nature Reserve contains the largest remnant of shoreline rainforest in New South Wales. A gentle walking track meanders through the rainforest where rich vegetation and abundant bird life are observed. Emus, kangaroos, goannas, dolphins are but a few of the local wildlife.

Although only two minutes drive from the main shopping and business centre of Iluka, The Anchorage Holiday Park"s general atmosphere is of friendly seclusion and tranquillity, with the tropical gardens combining with views of the beautiful Clarence River. Perfect for those who wish to "get away from it all" or families spending quality time together.

What are your breakfast options?: No breakfast options at the property, we are a caravan park with
self-contained cabins. Nearby, there are a few coffee shops take away places
that offer breakfast, but we are unsure of their timing and prices.
What transport is available to get around?: Walking, bicycles or your car are the transport options as no public transport in Iluka.
What can I do nearby?: Iluka is a small, quiet fishing village, so there is no organized attractions or entertainment like you would get on the Gold Coast. This area is famous for its beautiful beaches, World Heritage Rain forest, fishing, river and the peaceful nature of the place. A passenger ferry goes to and from Yamba, where there are more shops, cafe's etc. There is a cinema over there, which offers $7 movies, adult or child, which is great. There's a boat, bike, kayak hire or cruises available.
Do you have internet?: No. But there is Wireless Internet in the park that you can log on and
buy time for. It is roughly $4 per hour.
Do you provide parking?: Parking is next to each cabin.
