The Mandalay & Shalimar Luxury Beachfront Apartments is on the beachfront and near the Marina Mirage and Macrossan Street. The Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest are just a twenty minute drive by car from the hotel. Many famous pubs, cafes, local artisan shops, diners and bistros are within a short walk from the hotel grounds. The hotel is an hour drive away from the airport. The Mandalay & Shalimar Luxury Beachfront Apartments staff can make arrangements for to and from transportation by special request.

What are your breakfast options?: As we are fully self-contained apartments and do not have any restaurant facilities on site, we do not provide breakfast packages. There are a number of cafes and restaurants very close to our property if any guests wish to dine out for breakfast.
What transport is available to get around?: If you do a tour to the reef, generally included would be a pick up from the hotel to the Marina Mirage where the boats leave from; however, if not it is only a 5- to 10-minute walk. The same for Daintree tours if you partake in a guided tour they will pick you up from here and if you decide to self drive then you would need to hire a car.
What can I do nearby?: We have 2 swimming pools, tennis court and BBQ facilities. Of course we are the closest point in Australia to the Great Barrier Reef and approximately 1 hour from the Daintree Rainforest. There are many other attractions and activities available in the area.

Even though we are a very small village, we are renowned for having some of the best restaurants in Australia.
Do you have internet?: We do have wireless internet access. There is a selection of packages that can be purchased at various charges. 1 full day access is $16.65 and 1 week is $63.95. There are other packages in between these rates.
Do you provide parking?: We have a secure, undercover, free parking areas for our guests.
