We stayed in two terraced houses. No 5 had ants and when we had a shower, the water from upstairs dripped down the wall onto the kitchen bench downstairs. Dishwasher did not work and by the look of it has not functioned for a long time. Sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable with the feet being higher than the head. We were moved to another room (No 3) but this was not much better. Dishwasher worked but no instructions were provided. Front desk told us to use the dishwasher liquid which resulted in a overflow of bubbles - apparently guests have to provide their own dishwasher powder. Again sofa bed was uncomfortable but was also stained beyond belief. The last straw was spotting a huge cockroach in the kitchen. At this point we decided to move out to another establishment.Date of Stay: April 2010

My sisters an I travel every few years to Perth from the USA to see family and always stay several days in Sydney. We normally stay at the Marriott -- this time we decided we would try something a little different, so we booked a Terrace House at the Rendezvous Hotel at the Rocks. We were so disappointed, we felt compelled to write a comment. Our room was terrible ( Terrace 5), It was advertised as having two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs - it had only one upstairs, there were four of us. The sofa bed down stairs needs to be thrown in the rubbish - you cannot sit or sleep on it. There were ants all over the kitchen. Housekeeping brought only fresh towels, no cleaning was conducted. We had to ask for fresh linens for the kitchen. The web site and virtual tours are extremely misleading.. We approached the front desk to request something that was at least acceptable, they were powerless without supervisory consult ( ridiculous in this day and age - for good customer service, your employees need to be empowered to provide some type of customer satisfaction). The next day, we were supposed to be contacted by Management - they never bothered. We went to the front desk again--Management did not even have the courtesy to come to speak with us personally. They relayed the message that they would decrease our bill by $50.00 per night - which did nothing to make us more comfortable and was still significantly over priced for the shabby accommodations. I have traveled all over the world for business and for pleasure and this is one of the worst Hotels I have ever had the misfortune of having to spend time in. Someone really needs to look at how this hotel id being managed- it is an extremely poor example of hospitality and lacks virtually anything that vaguely resembles Customer Service. Just thought you should know - Hope someone cares enough to look into this.Date of Stay: April 2010

We especially changed from another hotel to this one because coming from a cold melbourne, the kids and my hubby and I wanted a heated pool. Well, the pool and spa were unclean and freezing and they kept telling us during our stay that it was to be serviced. Kids didnt get any enjoyment at all. And I had to clean the kitchen and coffee tables first before I could use the room. The roller beds for the kids were unbeleivably uncomfortable and the sofa bed, oh my god, are you kidding. I dare management should sleep one night on those beds. My kids slept with us, which I really didnt need this holiday. But saying all this, the location was fabulous and the king bed we had was as comfy as ever.Date of Stay: September 2009
