Stonelea Country Estate offers luxury 4 ½ Star cottage accommodation with views over the rolling hills of the 1,500 acre property, trout-stocked lakes and private 18-hole golf course - all less than 2 hours drive from Melbourne CBD via the Yarra Valley. The award winning restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a seasonal a la carte menu featuring regional produce including salmon, trout, game meats, a selection of French cheeses and local fruit and vegetables, herbs and honey from the property.

The extensive range of on-site activities includes an outdoor pool, indoor heated pool centre with spa, sauna excercise room, mod-grass tennis courts, bicycles, lawn games, trout-stocked ponds, clay target shooting, hot air ballooning and a private 18-hole golf course.

The Stonelea Calendar of Events features long weekends with live jazz in January and Opera in the Country in June, winemaker dinners with a guest chef in winter, a gourmet luncheon at the Alexandra Picnic Races in Autumn, New Year's Festivities, Easter specials and poolside packages all school holidays.

There are 27 cottages and 20 verandah rooms with group rates available for gourmet or golfing weekends.

Transportation:
Stonelea Country Estate is located on the corner of Connelly's Creek Road and the Maroondah Highway at Acheron, 40 minutes past the Yarra Valley. Drive time is a comfortable 2 hours from Melbourne CBD (subject to traffic conditions), 1 hour from Lilydale or 90 minutes from the airport.

From Melbourne there are several options:

Via Maroondah Highway:

Join the Maroondah Highway via the Eastern Freeway or Canterbury Road . Continue through Lilydale and Healesville, across the Black Spur Ranges to Acheron, about 7 minutes past the small town of Taggerty, 10 km before Alexandra
Turn left into Connelly¿s Creek Road to enter Stonelea OR,
the following route does not travel over the Black Spur if you prefer a less windy route, traveling time is approx 5-10 minutes longer.

Turn left at Coldstream onto the Melba Highway
Travel through Yarra Glen and Yea
After Molesworth turn right to Alexandra
At the main intersection in Alexandra turn right onto the Maroondah Hwy towards Melbourne
Stonelea is 10km from Alexandra
At Acheron, turn right into Connelly¿s Creek Road to enter

From Melbourne Airport or the Western Ring Road:

Take the Hume Hwy towards Seymour - Sydney
Exit at Tallarook and continue to Yea
Travel straight through Yea towards Mansfield
After Molesworth turn right to Alexandra
At the main intersection in Alexandra turn right onto the Maroondah Hwy towards Melbourne
Stonelea is 10km from Alexandra
At Acheron, turn right into Connelly¿s Creek Road to enter
OR, if you prefer not to travel Via the Hume Hwy the following is a direct but more picturesque route to Yea

Take the Western Ring Road towards Greensborough but exit at Plenty Road.
Turn left towards Whittlesea and continue to Yea
Travel straight through Yea towards Mansfield
After Molesworth turn right to Alexandra
At the main intersection in Alexandra turn right onto the Maroondah hwy towards Melbourne
Stonelea is 10km from Alexandra
At Acheron, turn right into Connelly¿s Creek Road to enter.
Attractions:
Stonelea is located in some of the most spectacular countryside in Victoria, rolling hills, national parks, the scenic Eildon Lake and Upper Goulburn River provide opportunities for walking, climbing, abseiling, boating, white water rafting and driving tours.

Local wineries offer cellar door tours and light meals and there is also antique stores, farm visits, produce markets and local events such as the "Truck, Rod and Ute Show", country show days and Alexandra Speedway Events, the Easter Art Show, Wine Show Weekend.
