Nature lovers will enjoy exploring the various mountains around Jiangxi, such as the mist-covered Mount Sanqing, a sacred Taoist mountain with dramatic cliffs. Alternatively, head to Mount Longhu, known as one of the birthplaces of Taoism, or the Wugong Mountains, which is almost 2,000 metres.

The Heritage-listed Lushan Quaternary Glaciation National Geopark extends from the Yangtze River to the Lake Poyang basin and grants access to dramatic peaks and valleys, natural caves, cascading waterfalls and Taoist and Buddhist temples. Don’t miss seeing the 180-million-year-old Yilong Cave, which is about 4.2 kilometres long and filled with stalagmites and stalactites.
