You can easily walk to the shopping areas (Picadilly, Carnaby) and to the museums (National Gallery, the British Museum). The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Due to some loud guests we asked to be moved and the staff graciously did so. As a result, we were able to see the updated room in the second floor and the 'old school' room in the fourth floor. For the location, staff and breakfast I would recommend this hotel. So what are the cons? The problem is the bones of the hotel. You might end up in a room next to the restaurant. There are some puzzling stairs like Hogwart's. And the rooms are small and the bathrooms are obsolete. Short of gutting the building and rebuilding, Le Meridien Picadilly may never be a proper, updated hotel. But we enjoyed our stay and we enjoyed London immensely.
