We have just spent 8 nights at The Passage Resort on the north west coast of Koh Samui. We chose this venue because it looked appealing on their website and was “far from the maddening crowd”. We were not disappointed. The property is genuine beachfront, the beach being about 50 metres from our Pool Access Villa. Gardens are attractive and nicely maintained. There are 3 pools all of which are enhanced by yellow umbrellas and colourful poolside furniture. Our villa was quite large, clean and well serviced. The decor was perhaps a little dated but the tranquil surroundings and peace of the place added to the experience. Our package included vouchers for 3 course resort restraunt meals, plentiful cocktails and massages. The resort provided shuttle busses to major locations on the island. On occasions where shuttles were not available low cost taxis did the job. All staff were friendly and polite. They seemed to care about the wellbeing of guests. We spent much time in the restraunt which offered a totally acceptable variety of local dishes for lunch and dinner. Breakfast too was of good variety and standard. By virtue of their role we got to know Toni, the restraunt manager and two of his staff, Noun and Beautiful. Their attention to our needs was without fault. We could believe other staff are as caring as these but we could not come to know them all. To sum up, a quiet and relaxing resort, well managed with very good attention to servicing guests needs.
