    Nylo Is Excellent!

This hidden gem on the Upper West Side is always my choice when visiting NYC! A great location, close to Museum of Natural History, Central Park, and Subway. It has that warm neighborhood feel and is away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square, but it's easy to get there on the express Subway in about 5 minutes. All of the hotel staff are amazing and helpful. You are greeted by friendly doormen that make a wonderful first impression upon your arrival. Orlando, Alberto and Lenny are our favorite doorman, the best in the city! They are so professional and always greet you with a smile, they offer assistance and information to make your stay more enjoyable. My recommendation is the curtains do not cover the windows fully so Sunlight does come in.

    Nice for a Short Stay

The hotel is within a 2 block walk from the 7th Ave line #1 train 79th St station. The entrance was located on 77th street between Broadway & Columbus Ave. The lobby contained a small bar and sitting lounge area. Across from that is the check-in desk and a small area where you could sit & plug-in your laptop or devices. The hotel has a hipster vibe to it and the overall decor tends to drift towards a minimalist modern design (clean lines, dark neutral colors). The hotel itself is pretty large (former early & mid 20th century office or residential building), and the layout of the halls and rooms was quite unusual. Lots of turns, nooks and blind corners. The staff was pleasant, and the front desk concierge was extremely friendly and helpful. A voucher is presented for the guest to receive a complimentary glass of sparkling wine or spritzer upon checking in. A nice touch. The room selection varies and the room I was in was probably one of the smaller ones available. My particular room (#1022), was an interior room with a small single window overlooking an alleyway with a clear view of the other rooms across and on either side of mine. Had to keep the blind drawn as anyone could get a clear view of you inside your your room. There was a full length curtain behind the bed's headboard which was used to conceal a bare wall. Room Amenities: A single cup Keurig unit, with a small selection of coffee & tea K-cups. An Ironing board & Iron. An older generation iPod/iPhone compatible clock radio. Work Desk with chair & lamps containing built-in AC power plugs. Room Safe Complimentary Magazines. A Large wall mounted Flat Screen TV access for RCA connectors only. No HDMI. Small storage areas for personal items. Ice bucket & tongs small area for hanging clothing shared with ironing supplies.Basic Bath Amenities: Standard tub w/shower & fabric curtain. Standard toilet. The usual assorted bath toiletries. Free Guest WiFi in the common areas and guest rooms.
