The location is perfect, with many shops, malls and restaurants nearby and very close to the river. We got upgraded to a room with a wonderful river view. The view was very breathtaking and memorable. Big gym, 25m pool, tennis court, ice bath for post workout recovery. Absolutely beautiful accommodation, large sized room, fairly modern and faultless amenities. Many traditional Chinese food nearby. The room, restaurant and the services from all levels are great.

Pu-dong Shangri-La should rank at the very top of your list when considering a hotel in the Lujiazui financial district. It caters to business travelers but tourists can feel right at home too. The hotel's location is unbeatable, giving guests a front row seat looking at the river traffic and it is the only hotel in Pu-dong offering unobstructed views of Shanghai's iconic Bond. Staff is super attentive and service is excellent all around. The moment you step into the hotel, you are greeted by the scent, sight and sounds of a grand hotel. Come in via the River Wing, which offers echoes of classic Shanghai - from its grand entrance lobby to the details of its decor that provide contemporary comforts with Chinese artistic elements. If you can, reserve a room with Horizon Club access. It is well worth the cost. In particular, Horizon Club manager Kenny Oi leads a team offering the personal service and attention to details that make a stay so comfortable and care free. Make sure you stop for drinks at Jade 36 bar for a fabulous evening experience. The bar's service manager Dicky Hartono makes the best old fashioned in town. Enjoy the drinks as you watch the city sparkle at night! The upmarket IFC mall is right across the street while the mass market Super Brand Mall is next door. Subway station is also within easy reach, at just a short 5 minute walk away to offer access to Shanghai's very efficient subway system to take you to all corners of the city.

Stayed here as part of a group of six as part of an extended family vacation. Staff are attentive, helpful and polite. Great cityscape views from the rooms, especially impressive at night. Rooms are a comfortable size. Slightly dated in terms of style but clean and very presentable. The breakfast buffet is a site to behold. A wide selection on offer including Indian, European, American and Chinese cuisine. Small niggles with over cooked bacon and scrambled eggs but this is a common experience in China.
