The setting is beautiful, the stone buildings give a charm to this hotel. The junior suite is very spacious and can sleep on a bed where you have to take a shuttle to join his wife. the jacuzzi in the very large bathroom is a plus undeniable. The equipment of the kitchen corresponds to the essentials to have for a stay. It was a little hot in our room but it is an insignificant detail that we did not take the time to solve. Minor issue but everything is perfect. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.

The facilities are first class and the beach is lovely. Yes the waves are rough, but come on people this is the Atlantic Ocean. In my mind, the staff are what made a great property an outstanding one. Sophia in reservations, Jeffery in concierge, the nice young lady who did the restaurant bookings (sorry forgot her name), Gloria at L'Azure, Margaret at Zen, Errol at the Trattoria and Nicole in property sales are the ones that we interacted with the most. The rest of the staff from the gardener to the duty manager were always friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the trip so much we have already booked a return visit with friends for the end of January. The only thing that I would draw the management's attention to is the very poor selection of things to buy at their on site Grocery Store. If you are going to offer this service, then make sure the shelves are stocked and kept stocked. Now I noticed that some of the reviews that nitpicked the smallest imperfections which are just that, small things. Yes, there were some things that use a coat of paint or cleaning, but having lived in the Caribbean I know what damage the weather, volcanic dust and salt breeze can do in a very short period of time. Some guests were so rude and disrespectful to the staff, I suspect those are the ones who complain about them in their reviews. It is amazing the service one gets by simply being friendly, polite and taking note of the staff's name. One must give respect in order to receive it. We were initially in room 831B which was a beautiful jr suite however it was in a very loud location with some repair work outside during the day and karaoke/ live entertainment at night. Traveling with a baby who needed naps we asked if we could change rooms and we were upgraded to a full suite across the way. It was amazing, full kitchen, 2 baths, Jacuzzi tub, living and dining room and huge porch area. Breathtaking and so very relaxing with zero noise besides the animals at night and birds early morning.

Everything is meticulously and perfectly designed from the accommodation and restaurants, to the swimming pools and landscaped gardens, they really have thought of everything here. What makes this place even more magical are the stories of how the resort originally started out as an 18 room hotel for the traders visiting the island in 1887, which is now the name of the resort bar, with the historic hotel still in use today. The restaurants deserve a particular mention as the food is exquisite with a number of different restaurants to choose between, some are a little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. A particular highlight for the children was the supervised children's club facility, somewhere they actually wanted to go to with lots of art based activities and a games console and the cafe which sold the most amazing cakes and ice creams. The only negative whilst we were here was the unexpected (and unprecedented) amount of seaweed which had been washed up on the beach from the recent storms in the Atlantic Ocean, but to be fair the hotel were doing everything they could to deal with this. Hoping we get to return here again.
