About Graciosa Island

La Graciosa is an undiscovered paradise a stone’s throw from the Canary Islands. It’s part of the Chinijo Archipelago and fringed by white-sand beaches and turquoise water. Unpaved roads and dramatic volcanic landscapes give La Graciosa a wild and off-the-beaten-track feel. The tiny village of Caleta de Sebo is a gateway to the island.

Things to do in Graciosa Island

Whether you want to swim, sunbathe or snorkel, you’ll find beaches for every occasion on La Graciosa. Family-friendly La Cocina is set on a sheltered cove and features soft sand, calm water and a resident pod of dolphins. Enjoy incredible views of the Famara Cliffs from La Francesa and escape to Ambar, a remote beach framed by jet-black volcanic rocks and rolling sand dunes.

From hiking to water sports, there are plenty of ways to stay active on La Graciosa. Rent a bike and explore scenic cycling paths or go off-road on a Jeep safari. Signposted trails criss-cross the island and treat you to incredible views, including the challenging trail leading up to Montaña Amarilla.

La Graciosa is in the Chinijo Archipelago Nature Reserve, one of the largest marine sanctuaries in Europe. Underwater rock formations serve as a habitat for enormous barracudas, stingrays and Canarian lobsters. Explore world-class dive sites like Las Gerardias, where you’ll find rainbow-coloured coral gardens. Other dive sites feature beautiful underwater arches and tunnels covered with sea anemones.

The pocket-sized village of Caleta de Sebo is your first point of call on La Graciosa. Its unpaved roads are lined with charming whitewashed houses and local cafes. If you’re looking for adventure, you’ll find bike rental shops and Jeep safari tour operators and just steps from the ferry dock.
