About Gulf of Saint Tropez

Backed by the Maures Mountains, Saint Tropez Gulf is a natural inlet of the Mediterranean Sea. It’s home to sun-drenched resort towns, golden stretches of sand and world-class golf courses, making it one of France’s most popular coastal destinations.

History buffs shouldn’t miss a visit to the Citadel of Saint-Tropez, a 17th-century fortress that houses a museum detailing the maritime history of the region. Learn about the livelihoods of local fishermen and sailors while browsing the artefacts on display, then venture into the citadel’s dungeons.

Fringing Saint Tropez Gulf are several beautiful beaches, including port-side Plage de Grimaud and Plages de Saint-Tropez. If you’re travelling with kids, they’ll love letting loose on the thrill rides and crazy golf course of Azur Park. Keen golfers can play a round at the Golf Club Saint-Tropez, which was designed with the help of Gary Player.

Getting there

Saint Tropez Gulf is just over an hour’s drive from Cannes and 1.5 hours from Nice. Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is also 1.5 hours away and has flights to destinations across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Regular buses connect to the resort towns lining the gulf.
