The views are spectacular and I would think worth paying an additional supplement for. Our room was clean, a reasonable size and standard - the bathroom was a bit of a let down with one of those awful walls mounted hair dryers which don't actually dry your hair. Breakfast was good - nice variety of foods, although it got very samey after a few days. There were a lot of pastries and sweet foods, so probably ideal if you have a sweet tooth (neither my husband nor I do). The shuttle is very useful, although can get a bit busy in the early evenings. It is possible to walk into Taormina and is a pleasant stroll - although some are uphill and I would think it would be quite a difficult walk in the height of the heat of summer. A nice hotel. The staff were very charming and helpful. Sometimes there seemed to be an awful lot of waiting staff just hanging around at breakfast time. Ate at the restaurant one night - the food was very good and the waiter was lovely, however, the bar service was extremely slow which was very disappointing. Pool was a decent size. Quite busy most of the day we were there. The bar does put on music which can get a little annoying if you want peace and quiet. The hotel is set away from the main town.
