Step back in time and discover the town’s Cretaceous past at the Big Water Visitor Centre and Dinosaur Museum. The museum is packed with dinosaur fossils and features a nine-metre-long mural depicting Cretaceous species. Other exhibits introduce you to the region’s iconic “hoodoo” rock spires. You’ll also find plenty of information on the unique flora, fauna and geology of Kane County.

Beat the heat and make a splash in Lake Powell. Lone Rock Beach is a stone’s throw from Big Water and features golden sand and calm, cobalt-blue water. Wahweap Beach is another popular swimming spot with inviting water and shady picnic spots. Scenic cruises along Lake Powell are a great way to take in the dramatic desert scenery. Alternatively, rent a boat and enjoy a self-guided tour of the lake.
