Things to do in Dobra Voda

Relax on the pebbly shores of Veliki Pijesak Beach, which stretches along the coast of Dobra Voda. There are grill restaurants and pizzerias backing the beach where you can dine throughout the day and the Tropski Bar at its northern end offers cocktails with sunset views. Dobra Voda is a convenient base for visiting the town of Bar, which is renowned for the palace that King Nikola built for his daughter in 1885. Traditional folk costumes, cultural artefacts and antiquities occupy the palace’s rooms while the surrounding gardens are planted with exotic species collected by Montenegrin sailors.

Perched at the foot of Mount Rumija and above the town of Bar is Stari Bar, a partially ruined settlement previously ruled by the Venetians, the Hungarians and the Ottoman Empire. Begin your visit at the small museum, which is housed in a 17th-century customs building and details the people and events that shaped Stari Bar. You can wander between the Omerbasića Mosque, the Turkish bathhouses and the remains of a 13th-century monastery while soaking up the views across the Adriatic Sea.
