About Frederikssund

Overlooking a narrow point of the Roskilde Fjord, Frederikssund is a historic Danish town dating back to the Middle Ages. In 1810, it received the status of a market town and flourished with the arrival of the railway in 1879. Today, Frederikssund is famed for its Viking Games, which recreate the atmosphere and drama of the Viking Age.

In the heart of town is the Frederikssund Church, a red-brick monument that dates back to the 12th century.
