About Hot Springs National Park

Sprawling in the north of Hot Springs, Hot Springs National Park has been a protected recreational area since 1832. Its naturally heated waters flow from the Ouachita Mountains and it has long been revered for its medicinal properties, historic bathhouses and hiking trails.

Stroll along the Grand Promenade and Bathhouse Row, where outstanding examples of Gilded Age architecture stand out. Stop in at the Fordyce Bathhouse, which now serves as the Hot Springs National Park’s visitor centre, and discover the history of the region while watching the “Valley of Vapors" film.

Enjoy a traditional bath at the Buckstaff Bathhouse, which was inspired by early-20th-century European spas, or soak in the hot spring pools of the Quapaw Baths and Spa. If you prefer to stretch your legs, follow one of the hiking trails through the Ouachita Mountains to admire striking rock formations and wildflowers.

The Hot Springs National Park is around 1.5 hours’ drive from Little Rock and Clinton National Airport. Memorial Field Airport is a 20-minute drive from the national park and has regular flights from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
