About Kassiopi

Kassiopi is a charming fishing village set on a horseshoe-shaped harbour. The ruins of an ancient Byzantine castle tower over Kassiopi and recall the island’s ancient past. Uncrowded beaches and a laid-back atmosphere make Kassiopi an excellent alternative to upmarket towns like Gaios and Fiskardo.

Wooden chairs and tables shaded by canvas umbrellas dot the waterfront promenade. Fresh seafood features heavily on most menus. You’ll also see Corfu specialities like “sofrito” veal cooked in white wine and “porpetes” meatballs in a rich tomato sauce. The island’s famous kumquat liqueur is perfect for sipping in the sunshine.

Cool off on several beaches within walking distance of the town centre. A shady footpath leads to Paralia Mpataria, a sheltered cove with white-pebble sand and turquoise water. Swim in the crystalline water and dry off in the Mediterranean sunshine. Further north is Kanoni Beach, where smooth rocks stretch down to the seafront and are perfect for sunbathing.
