About Le Diamant

Le Diamant will dazzle you with its gleaming white sand and sparkling water backed by rainforest-covered hills. The resort is named after the diamond-shaped volcanic island set just offshore. Relax on the beach, enjoy the spectacular sunsets and walk in the footsteps of Caribbean pirates.

Things to do in Le Diamant

Grande Anse du Diamant wraps around the bay and is one of the most beautiful beaches in Martinique. The three-kilometre-long beach features a mix of shimmering black volcanic sand and white pebbles. From the water, you’ll get postcard-perfect views of the palm-fringed coast and verdant mountains.

Le Diamant is a launchpad to some of the most famous dive sites in Martinique. Rocher du Diamant, the diamond-shaped rock two kilometres offshore, supports a vibrant underwater ecosystem. It rises 175 metres over the sea and was once a hideout for Caribbean pirates. Today it’s a world-class dive site where you can see colourful corals, sponges and hawksbill turtles.

Brush up on local history at the Bernard David Museum. It’s named after a local priest and showcases pre-Columbian artefacts found on the island. At the Museum of Shells, you can admire thousands of specimens from around the world, including rare shells from the Antilles archipelago.

Hike along the Le Diamant headland for sweeping views over Rocher du Diamant and the jewel-coloured Caribbean Sea. You’ll pass by Caffard Cove, where a cluster of 15 white statues commemorate the African slaves who lost their lives in a 19th-century shipwreck. Larcher Hill is another rewarding hike. From the 477-metre-high summit of the extinct volcano, you can admire beautiful views over the bay.

Getting around Le Diamant

Le Diamant is compact and easy to get around on foot. The resort is a one-hour drive from Fort-de-France and 30 minutes from Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport. Rental cars and taxis are the best way to get around Martinique.
