Things to do in Satu Mare
Spreading along the north side of River Somes, the Old Town area cradles most of the city’s museums and ancient churches. Start with breakfast or coffee in the central Piata Libertatii, then wander through the Orthodox Church of the Archangels Gabriel and Michael. In Piata Pacii square, you’ll find the Hungarian Reformed Church and its impressive collection of plates, glasses and bells from the 1600s.

You can rent a vehicle at Satu Mare Airport, about 11 kilometres from Satu Mare’s city centre. Taxis and buses offer transportation to major attractions and the Old Town area.
