Where to stay in Sétif

About Sétif

Setif sits in the high plateaus of northern Algeria, close to the Gulf of Bejaia. The town’s history dates back to the Roman times, and it is a popular destination for culture, adventure and picturesque landscapes. If you’re visiting in winter, make sure you pack your thermals for a rewarding hike around Algeria’s coldest region.

Things to do

In the centre of town sits Ain Fouara, the city’s charming fountain shaded by trees. Admire the fountain’s delicately carved statues and masonry work or take a guided tour to learn about the area and its history.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly adventure, head to Parc d'Attractions, a large amusement park located in Centre Ville. The park is home to a small zoo, landscaped gardens, winding pathways and cafes to boot. There’s also a large lake for boating alongside a children’s area with swings, a carousel and amusement rides.

Sports fans can enjoy a trip to Stade 8 Mai 1945, the home stadium of ES Setif located to the west of town. ES Setif is Algeria's biggest and most famous football club, so it’s definitely worth your time attending a home match or training session.

Shopaholics can enjoy a morning spent at Park Mall, Setif’s modern shopping complex and entertainment centre. With designer labels, boutique stores and restaurants to refuel, hours can be spent wandering the mall. There’s also an ice rink, bowling alley and laser tag arena to keep everyone entertained.

Getting around

Setifis three hours west of Algiers and 30 minutes north of Arnat Airport. Once in town, it’s easy to navigate your way around thanks to the grid-like layout, while buses and taxis also run regularly.
