About Cala Figuera

Overlooking a tranquil bay on the south coast of Mallorca, Cala Figuera is a laid-back town in the Balearic Islands. It was established as a small fishing community in the 19th century and is now a popular mooring destination for yachts while being on the doorstep of Mondrago Natural Park.

Things to do in Cala Figuera

Enjoy a stroll around the picturesque port of Cala Figuera and watch the fishing boats coming and going from the waterfront trail. Once you’ve built up an appetite, there are plenty of restaurants where you can dine on Mediterranean cuisine, including Restau Samedi, Restaurant L’Arcada and El Cruce. For elevated views across the town, head to the scenic lookout at Cala Figuera Rock.

Sprawling north-east of Cala Figuera is Mondrago Natural Park, which encompasses more than 700 hectares of pine-covered ravines, coastal grasslands and dunes. Stretch your legs along one of the hiking and cycling trails or join a guided birdwatching tour to spot species travelling along the Western European migratory route. If you’re visiting in the warmer months, you can cool off with a swim at Cala Mondrago or S’Amarador Beach.

Nestled inland from Cala Figuera is the charming village of Santanyi, which is clustered with buildings constructed from golden-coloured Mares sandstone. Relax beneath the towering palm trees of Plaça Major and admire the 16th-century Porta Murada before seeing the beautifully embellished organ within the Church of Sant Andreu. Virtuosi from around the world perform organ recitals during Santanyi’s annual Festival International de Musica.
