Things to do in Cornwall

Clip into a harness and get sky-high at the Rise and Climb Adventure Course. The family-friendly park features an exhilarating high-ropes course featuring swinging bridges, tightropes, spider webs and platforms more than 12 metres above the ground. Speed along the 180-metre-long zipline and challenge your friends to a game of laser tag.

Prince Edward Island is famous for its dairy products and COWS Creamery is one of the best places to try the delicious export. On a self-guided tour, you’ll go behind the scenes of the factory and see how cheese, ice cream and other flagship dairy products are made.

Cross the North River and spend the day exploring Charlottetown, the lively provincial capital. The city will charm you with its walkable downtown core filled with 19th-century redbrick buildings. Stroll around the pretty harbour and enjoy a picnic in Victoria Park, one of Canada’s most beautiful green spaces.

Blockhouse Point Lighthouse stands guard over the entrance to Charlottetown Harbour and is a beloved landmark. Perched atop red sandstone cliffs, the lighthouse was built in 1876 and features a charming white façade with red accents. Nearby is the Skmaqn-Port-la-Joye-Fort Amherst National Historic Site, which marks one of the first European settlements on the island. Wander around the grass-covered ruins and enjoy the spectacular views.

Getting around Cornwall

Cornwall is located in Queens County, a 15-minute drive from Charlottetown. The town is compact and easy to get around on foot. The Trans Canada Highway (TCH) cuts through the town and connects Cornwall with Charlottetown and other destinations on Prince Edwards Island and across Canada. Charlottetown Airport is a 15-minute drive away.
