Lake Nakuru, translating to “Dusty Place” in the local Maasai dialect, is best known for its vast community of pink flamingos estimated to be in the millions. Getting there
Nakuru is served by a small airport, which can handle private plane and helicopter flights. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi is Kenya’s main airport and only around 260 kilometers from Nakuru. From Nairobi, you can embark on a two-hour drive to Nakuru or make the trip with a licensed bus and coach company.
