About Van Nuys

Van Nuys is a vibrant neighbourhood in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. While it's just 25-minutes from Downtown Los Angeles, colourful food trucks, Latino bodegas and retro thrift stores make it feel worlds away from the buzz of Hollywood Boulevard.

The neighbourhood is proud of its Hispanic heritage and is brimming with family-run general stores and authentic restaurants serving tortillas, empanadas and grilled corn. Much of the action is centred along Van Nuys Boulevard, a vibrant thoroughfare that runs through the heart of the neighbourhood.

Strolling around the streets of Van Nuys reveals California bungalows flanked by swaying palm trees. On weekends, the neighbourhood hosts lively flea markets where you can pick up tasty snacks, handicrafts and pre-loved clothing. On the western fringe, the beautiful Japanese Garden features perfectly clipped bonsai trees and a glassy pond.
