About Andalo

Andalo is a picturesque alpine village set on a grassy plateau. It’s perched more than 1,300 metres above sea level and framed by the rugged peaks of Brenta Dolomites. A true year-round destination, Andalo offers adventures for every season, including hiking, cycling, and snowshoeing.

Things to do in Andalo

Hit the slopes of the Paganella ski area. Gondolas and chairlifts whisk you up the mountain and unlock access to more than 50 kilometres of groomed slopes. In addition to downhill skiing and snowboarding, enjoy activities like snowshoeing, ice skating and tobogganing.

Hiking trails wind through the mountains and showcase the natural beauty of the Brenta Dolomites. Summer gondolas make it easy to access high-altitude lookouts like Paganella’s summit. The views from the 2,125-metre-high mountain are spectacular and stretch to Lake Garda on clear days. Rent a bike and explore scenic cycling trails and trot through flower-strewn fields on a horseback riding tour.

Cuisine in Andalo is simple, hearty and influenced by the alpine environment. Dine at local restaurants and try classic dishes from the Trentino region, like “canederli” bacon dumplings, “cotechino” pork sausages served with mashed potatoes and “zuppa d'orzo” barley soup. Piping hot apple strudel is the perfect dessert after a long day of hiking or skiing.

Travel back to medieval times at the ruins of Belfort Castle. The stronghold was built in the 14th century and features soaring stone walls, battlements and towers. Wander around the ruins of the centuries-old castle and read the informational panels to learn more about its unique history.
