The Baliuag Museum and Library is a great place to start and gain a better understanding of Baliuag’s historical and cultural heritage. It’s set within an elegant Spanish Colonial-era mansion and includes an exhibit detailing the first election which took place in the Philippines in 1899.

History enthusiasts can take a walk to admire the elaborate facade of the St. Augustine Parish Church that stands adjacent to the impressive Glorietta Fountain. You can also step inside the Santo Cristo Church and admire its exquisite whitewashed interior, situated on the edge of the Baliuag Memorial Cemetery.

If you need to cool off during the hot summer months, you can head to the Galilee Wonderland Park which lies just across the Angat River. There is a range of themed pools to suit all ages, including the Sea of Thalassa and Nile River pools, complete with artificial waves.

If you’re in need of some retail therapy, head across the canal that borders the northern edge of Baliuag town to SM City Baliwag. There’s a whole host of specialty and department stores set across its two floors, as well as four state-of-the-art cinemas and an extensive food court.

Getting there

Baliuag serves as a major transportation hub for bus services west to Pampanga and north to Nueva Ecija, around a one-hour drive north of Manila. Jeepneys are the most convenient means of getting around the town and private taxis are readily available.
