Where to stay in Kaş

About Kaş

Kas is known for its world-class wreck diving, but is also home to gorgeous beaches and a laid-back atmosphere. It sits on the Teke Peninsula and is anchored by an atmospheric Old Quarter, bustling town square and yacht-studded harbour.

Things to do

With a handful of wrecks sitting just offshore, Kas is a mecca for scuba divers. There are also plenty of water sports on offer, including scenic boat cruises and ocean kayaking tours. If you'd rather relax in the sunshine, head to Buyuk Cakil Plaji, a pebbly beach lined with breezy outdoor cafes.

On dry land you'll find a host of historic attractions, especially along the Cukurbag Peninsula. You can stroll around the ancient Lycian town of Antiphellos, known for its Hellenistic amphitheatre. The cliffs surrounding Antiphellos are also dotted with eerie rock tombs, with some accessible via a steep walking trail.

One of the best ways to enjoy Kas is by strolling around the characterful Old Quarter. Its mosaic stone streets are lined with artisan stores, clothing boutiques and handicraft stalls. Stop for lunch in the main square, which is lined with terrace cafes and al fresco restaurants.

Just offshore is Meis, a Greek island that’s only a 30-minute boat ride away. Once there, you can wander around cobblestone streets, explore hidden sea caves and enjoy freshly-caught seafood at a waterfront restaurant.

Getting around

Kas is easy to get around on foot, especially if you spend most of your time in the Old Quarter and waterfront district. You can also jump aboard water taxis, which ferry passengers from Kas Harbour to Liman Agzı beach. Local minibuses run to nearby cities like Antalya.
