Forming part of President’s Park, Lafayette Square is a picturesque greenscape designated a National Historic Landmark District. It was named after a hero of the American Revolutionary War and features a prominent equestrian statue of the 7th President of the United States, Andrew Jackson.

Lafayette Park features four corner statues of Revolutionary War heroes, including Poland's General Tadeusz Kościuszko and France's General Marquis Gilbert de Lafayette, after whom the park is named. Landscaped gardens of seasonal flowers, trees and fountains decorate the park, which is still encircled by the original iron and stone fence erected in 1869.

Lafayette Square is a five-minute walk from the Farragut West Station or just 10 minutes from the National Mall. Union Station and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport are a 10-minute drive away.
