About Tanjung Sepat

Nestled on the Malacca Strait, Tanjong Sepat is a charming fishing town with alluring seafood restaurants and street stalls selling the traditional “buns”. Tanjong Sepat also gives you convenient access to many of Selangor’s beaches and resort towns, along with eco-parks and bustling ports.

Things to do

Indulge in the famed seafood while visiting Tanjong Sepat, starting with the boiled crab and grilled fish at Restaurant Fish Village positioned near the scenic Lover’s Bridge. Sample the local delicacies, such as tom yam pan mee, a hearty soup filled with delicious ingredients, such as fish, pork balls, enoki mushrooms, crab sticks and squid. If you’re looking for the popular buns, visit Hai Yew Heng for some fresh buns filled with pork, peanut paste or vegetables.

Immerse yourself in the local fishing culture with a stroll around Tanjong Sepat’s fishing district. Stilted boardwalks lead you over the water past traditional fishing boats. Visit during different times of the day to see the boats departing or returning with their daily catch. Duck into Lover’s Bridge Cultural Street to purchase old-world working tools and homewares.

Need a break from the crowds? Seek out reprieve in Pantai Cunang, a shady park with vibrant flower gardens and native trees. Drive about 10 minutes to the Kuan Wellness Eco Park, where you can learn about environmental sustainability and take a guided tour through the ecology park. Don’t miss the pet conservation area, where you can play with rabbits.

Take advantage of Tanjong Sepat’s coastal location to visit the numerous beaches, such as the two sandy stretches at Bagan Lalang, only 20 minutes’ drive away. Dine at waterfront restaurants, let the kids play on the playgrounds or swim in the calm waters.

Getting around

Tanjong Sepat is about 1.5 hours’ drive from Kuala Lumpur. You can walk around the main parts of town, while a vehicle is needed to explore further.
