About Digby

Situated on the Annapolis Basin near the Bay of Fundy, Digby is a coastal town with charming waterfront seafood restaurants, a boutique shopping strip and the world’s largest fleet of scallop boats. The township is dotted with stunning architecture and is home to a museum, parks and a contemporary shopping mall.

Things to do in Digby

Discover the town’s history at Admiral Digby Museum, which houses personal belongings, old naval tools and photographs. Afterwards, walk to the iconic red and white striped Point Prim Lighthouse, which dates back to 1804 and looks out over the Digby Gut, Annapolis Bay and Bay of Fundy.

Need some retail therapy? Head to the Evangeline Mall to browse clothing and accessories at local boutiques. It’s a short walk from the Digby Area Recreation Facility, which is great for picnics in summer and has an ice-skating rink in winter. You’ll also find one-of-a-kind shops along the waterfront, including Complete Fabrication for craft supplies and A Needle Pulling Thread Quilt Shop.

Digby’s waterfront is centred around Water Street and is a great place for dining, thanks to seafood restaurants and family-run eateries. Enjoy delicious fish and crustaceans at The Wheelhouse Seafood & Pasta or visit House Of Wong Restaurant for buffet Chinese cuisine. You can also purchase daily-caught seafood at O'Neil Fisheries.

If you’ve got time for a day trip, drive about one hour to Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site, which is renowned for its pristine Nova Scotia environments. You can explore the national park while hiking or kayaking. Don’t forget to also visit the nearby Kejimkujik National Park Seaside to see wildflowers and lagoon systems.
