About Ehingen

Perched on the banks of the Danube River, Ehingen is a charming town in the heart of Baden-Württemberg. With its scenic setting and cultural offerings, Ehingen is an ideal destination to visit en route between Stuttgart and Munich.

Things to do in Ehingen

Art enthusiasts shouldn’t miss a visit to the Städtische Galerie Ehingen, which occupies a Baroque mansion built in 1624 for the von Speth family. Its collection features about 700 pieces, showcasing modern art from south-west Germany in a series of ever-changing exhibitions.

Another art gallery not to miss lies within Schloss Mochental, a Renaissance castle with sweeping views across the Danube River to the west of Ehingen. In addition to exhibitions of modern works, its beautifully restored rooms host concerts and poetry readings. A quirky highlight of the castle is its Broom Museum, which displays brooms from across the globe.

Adjacent to the Ehingen railway station is a picturesque park, which centres around a reflecting pool and the Schmiech stream. You can relax on one of the benches or settle in at the alfresco seating of the nearby brasseries. The Ehingen Town Garden is a short stroll from the Friedhof, a beautifully landscaped cemetery where some of the town’s most prominent citizens are laid to rest.
