About Łazienki Królewskie

A sanctuary of beautifully manicured lawns and wild, overgrown spaces, Lazienki Park is a green oasis in the heart of Warsaw. It occupies a sprawling 76-hectare footprint and is an important venue when it comes to hosting the city’s dynamic calendar of music, arts and cultural events.

During the summer months, the park comes to life with the sound of classic music concerts being played at the outdoor amphitheatre. During winter, the park transforms into a snowy wonderland. From young families and picnicking couples to sightseeing tourists and active locals, Lazienki Park is one of Warsaw’s most popular public spaces.

Encased within Warsaw's central district, Lazienki Park is located on the city’s prestigious Ujazdów Avenue strip. This location makes it part of Warsaw’s magnificent “Royal Route”, which runs from Zamkowy Square through to Lazienki Park and onwards to Wilanów. By far the best way to experience the park is by foot. Bicycles are also a great way to explore the grounds, ideally stopping for a picnic along the way.

While today Lazienki Park is open to the public, it was once a private hunting ground attached to the magnificent Ujazdów Castle. In 1764 it was acquired by King Stanisław August Poniatowski, who transformed it into a magnificent public park for the entire city to enjoy.
