Hunt for fossils in the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. This stretch of coast is one of the only places in the world where you can find fossils from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. The beaches between Lyme Regis and Charmouth are some of the best places to fossil hunt.

Seaton Beach stretches for more than 1.5 kilometres and is an ideal place to swim, sunbathe and build sandcastles. Relax on the shingle sand and make a splash with activities like kayaking and paddleboarding.

Ride the Seaton Tramway to Colyford, a chocolate-box village a few kilometres to the north. The narrow gauge electric tramway meanders through unspoilt countryside and treats you to fantastic views over the Axe Estuary. Colyford Station has been reimagined as a nostalgic café where you can enjoy traditional Devonshire cream teas.

Seaton Wetlands Nature Reserve is dotted with bird hides where you can spot ringed plovers, black-tailed godwits and oystercatchers. Trails wind through the reserve and take you past flower-filled meadows and marshlands. Keep an eye out for otters splashing in the pond.

Tee off on the dinosaur-themed minigolf course at Seafield Gardens. The park is set on Castle Hill and commands sweeping views over Seaton Beach and the Jurassic Coast. Kids love exploring the Jurassic-inspired adventure playground, complete with a miniature zipline.
