Flinders University has three main campuses. The first, in the leafy Bedford Park suburb of Adelaide, is the main teaching and research campus. In the Central Business District of Adelaide, visitors will discover Victoria Square campus. This building is popular for hosting business conferences and community meetings. The Tonsley campus harnesses technological creativity in a contemporary, forward-thinking facility. There is also much to see on the campus surrounding areas. The internationally renowned wine region of McLaren Vale is a short drive away. Famous for dry red wines, and notable for producing Shiraz grape varieties, it's the ideal place to sample the local nectar. Visitors preferring to explore the great outdoors can venture to Onkaparinga River National Park. With incredible hikes, picturesque lookout points and an abundance of wildlife, it offers a fun day out for all the family. Alternatively, the vibrant city of Adelaide has a host of fascinating museums, fine dining, art galleries and shopping.

Several buses operate from Adelaide to Flinders University and Flinders Medical Centre. The public bus service operates from Adelaide to Bedford Park and Tonsley campuses. The closest train station to Bedford Park is Eden Hills Station, and Clovelly Park Station allows easy access to Tonsley campus. University Loop Bus Services connect the stations to the campuses. Bicycles, Taxis and Uber are also available.

Flinders University was founded in 1966. It was named after Matthew Flinders, a navigator who surveyed and explored the coastline of South Australia in the 19th century.
