Tuncurry, which means “plenty of fish” in the Indigenous language, is unsurprisingly famous for its fishing. Whether you want to catch bream in Wallis Lake or reel in trophy-sized marlin on a deep-sea charter, Tuncurry offers something for every angler.

For a change of scenery, stroll across the bridge to Forster, a welcoming town with boutique gift stores, breezy cafes and award-winning restaurants. Forster Main Beach is an easy walk from the town centre and features golden sand and family-friendly ocean baths.
