About Sanctuary Cove Marina

For Gold Coast luxe at its most resplendent, Sanctuary Cove is a haven for locals and visitors alike. Located in the coveted suburb of Hope Island, it covers a sun-kissed footprint of almost 5 square kilometres. Given its stunning natural surrounds and exclusive location, Sanctuary Cove has emerged as a hotspot for luxury resort developments. Today, the five-star InterContinental offers guests high end resort style accommodation, with a dash of quintessential Queenslander style.

Most find it hard to leave, with the community featuring its own shopping centre and myriad of entertainment option such as championship golf courses, an upscale retail precinct, a smorgasbord of restaurants and a world class marina with more than 300 moorings. A mecca for superyachts, Sanctuary Cove boasts vessels of up to 36 metres cruising in throughout the year. For seafarers, the annual Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is reason enough to spend a few days unwinding by the ocean.

Located adjacent to the M1 motorway, Hope Island and Sanctuary Cove are easily reachable by car. Alternatively, Hope Island is just five minutes from Coomera railway station, which offers regular direct services to Brisbane city and the airport. Thanks to a purpose built golf buggy path between Hope Island Resort and Sanctuary Cove Resort, zipping around on four wheels is a novel way to get from A to B.

While today Sanctuary Cove is coveted as an exclusive master-planned community, it wasn’t always so glamorous. It’s named after colonial sugar plantation aristocrat Captain Louis Hope, though he refused to live on the island and instead chose to settle in nearby Ormiston.
